Changing guage cluster
I know that this question was asked before( not by me) but it wasn't really answered as much I would have liked. Does anyone know of any websites that show you how to install a gauge cluster with tachometer in a 6th gen hatch?

INTRODUCTION
Would you like a new look for your dashboard? This is one way to get some points with your friends and at the shows. APPLICABLE TO 96-00 Civic (All models) MATERIALS NEEDED Roll of plumbing strap (located at Home Depot/Lowes for a few dollars) INSTALLATION The new gauge cluster does not directly bolt into the Civic. However. with some creativity and plumbing strap you can fabricate an alternative. Cut a few strips of the plumbing strap down to about 1.5 inches long. Now you're set. Get to the wiring. The wires in the plugs for the cluster need to be rearranged. The table below shows the wiring information for the cluster. It really should not be too difficult to figure out how to do the wiring. PIN COLOR FUNCTION 96-00 CIVIC Connector B / 16P B1 Red/Blue Fuel gauge B10 B2 empty B3 Yellow/Black Seat belt light B6 B4 Green/Yellow Low fuel light B8 B5 empty B6 Blue/White Speedometer B11 B7 Blue/Black Trunk/hatch open B3 B8 empty B9 Red Brightness C12 B10 Red/Black Gauge lights C13 B11 Black/White VSS B15 B12 empty B13 Green/Red Left turn signal C7 B14 Green/Yellow Right turn signal B4 B15 Red/Green n/a C6 B16 Green/Red Emergency brake B5 Connector C / 13P C1 empty C2 empty C3 empty C4 Yellow Dimmer C4 C5 empty Cruise control empty C6 Black Ground - Use either steering column mounting bolt if possible. Here are some pics, I have instructions for the 5th generations as well, which are a little better, but remember this is for 6th gen. Civics only. Type R/GSR cluster Si Cluster |
