V6 what does that do for your options
since its a 2.7 liter V6 taht only makes 181 hp does taht mean that Hyundai did a shitty job makin it and you cant tune alot of power out of it or that there is a shit load of power there just waiting to be found?

I don't think it is even pushing the claimed 181hp. Do you have one? You may want to go give it a dyno run to see what your working with.

The 3rd gen's are power hungry. By adding a CAI and cat back, you'll be over 200 horses. Go to www.hyundaiaftermarket.com and www.hyundaiperformance.com to learn everything you ever wanted to know about Hyundai's. Those 2 sites are the leaders in Hyundai tuning.

Re: V6 what does that do for your options
Quote:
CAI Full Exhaust Throttle body That alone can unleash around 30 to 40hp. I believe headers are in the works, thats more power. If you could find a way to lighten the weight of the Tib, that would add to more as well. All in all this can be a real sleeper with just bolt on than most 4 bangers running boost! Alphine does have a supercharger for the v6. From the buzz going around, its pretty decent and it adds about 50hp. Granted you can get 50hp from a niturous shot, but the SC isn't temporary HP eithier. |

Re: V6 what does that do for your options
i know this is an old topic but i just wanted to get your info straight. i don't know if you guys are familiar with import tuners power pages section, where they take imports get a base hp and tq readings then do different mods and get another dyno test after each mod. well when the 2003 tiburon GT came out they used it in one of there magazines. base line hp and tq at the wheels is 152.0hp and 166.2tq. they first put on a CAI which brought it up to 166.2hp and 171.5tq. next is a 60mm TB which is almost a waste of money with this little of mods cuz it only get to 166.2hp and 173.7tq. finally is the cat-back bringing the tib up to 170.7hp and 176.3tq
http://www.importtuner.com/powerpage...gt_v6_project/ check it out for your selfs |

Re: V6 what does that do for your options
The car is made to appeal to the masses for certain reasons. Seelling price, MPG, EPA regulations, quietness, etc. But there is plenty of potential. I'm in the 240-250 WHP zone, and that's enough for me. The 2.7L is used in the old Sonata's, Tucson's, & Santa Fe's. That's what keeps production costs down. If you're willing to put in the wrench time & parts cost you can get in the 300 WHP area.
