customizing rear defroster
I want to know is there an aftermarket defroster like a rear one that you can put on the front window.(I know I can't put it on the whole front window) I want to install one low like on a forester for the wipers.
if not can I buy a rear kit and just cut it down to fit only like 3 inches up on the windshield? Its rough when your plowing and you have to keep getting out to clean the cowl and wipers. |

Re: customizing rear defroster
If you can find a kit of some type (never seen one) I dont see why you couldnt do it.

Re: customizing rear defroster
Technically it would be illegal if its visible from inside. I'm not sure how Subaru gets away with it. Big check to the USDOT I guess.

Re: customizing rear defroster
I know you can buy aftermarket ones, it used to be a common trick in race cars to install them in the front window, especialy on common on rally cars.
Some have very thin wires, spread over a wide area and will have virtualy no effect on vision out the front window, if installed properly.
