Speed Bleeder installed too!
I installed a Speed Bleeder on my clutch Slave Cylinder and intend to put them on my brakes too. Speed Bleeder does not currently have fitment information for the Xterra, so I am working with them to find out what fits and they are being very cooperative and generous with sending out various sizes and such for me to test fit. BTW, Speed Bleeders are like regular bleeders except they have a spring loaded valve inside that automatically closes them when you get to the bottom of pedal travel, so you don't suck air back in and one person can do the job alone.
In any case, I seem to have found a proper size for the clutch slave cylinder. Unfortunately, all of my fluid drained out while changing bleeders. I figured I would lose what was in the slave cylinder, but not all of it! Anyway, this made for a bitch of a time getting the system refilled so I could bleed it, since I didn't have a vacuum pump to prime with. Quite frankly, I'm not sure what combination of things Rick and I did to finally get the fluid back down to the slave cylinder, but we did. We actually bought a vacuum pump at Schucks for $43 to prime the system, but it didn't work worth shit, so it took us a couple hours to get everything back online. Once the system was full of fluid though, the Speed Bleeder worked as advertised and made the actual bleeding process much easier. Note: I highly recommend quick hands so you don't drain the entire clutch hydraulic system if you change the bleeder out. Trust me when I say it's a PITA to refill. I hope to have a full report with part numbers soon. It appears that the rear brakes have a smaller bleeder than the fronts so I am going to have to send a couple back again and get a proper fitment for the rear. Once done, I will give Speed Bleeder my information and share it here for anyone interested. Until then here's their link if you want to take a look at the product. Speed Bleeder

ChuckH,
Gravity bleeding doesn't work? I use that technique on my brakes and it has been very effective. For those who don't know what that is, you attach a vacuum hose to the rear bleeders, open the cap on the master cylinder, top it off with brake fluid and then open the rear bleeder valves with the hoses running into a container like a gallon jug or something. Gravity will pull the fluid through after a few minutes, eventually eliminating the air in the system. Once the rear is done, do the same thing for the front. I don't own a clutch, so I was just wondering. |

Fronts...
I have them on the fronts, but can't figure out which ones go in the back. Please do share.

War: Gravity bleeding doesn't seem to work with the clutch. It's a lot harder to bleed I think because it has a master and slave cylinder, where brakes don't have a slave. That may be the big difference.
Kennedy: Can you tell me if you have the SB1010 in the front? They are the 10M x 1.0 size. I have four of them that I bought for the brakes based on the Pathfinder fitment. I already figured out the rears are smaller just by looking at them. Although I'm not positive because I haven't actually pulled them, they appear to be the same size as the clutch bleeder or maybe one size larger. So, I'll tell you what size fits in the clutch. The SB7100 (7M x 1.0) fits the clutch slave. It's a little longer than the stock bleeder but the threads are right and it works great. I also have an SB125L (8M x 1.25) that I can try in the rear brakes. Just need to find more time! I'm pretty sure the rears will either be this size or the same as the clutch. I'll let you know when I figure it out. You have to share too if you get the answer first! ![]() Could someone tell me why Nissan can't just use the same damn size atleast for all the brakes? Sheesh!

They may make them in SS now. I'd check and see. |
