Re: clutch/tranny problems???

It's good to see someone from the rock is here.

I think your clutch is not disengaging. Does your clutch pedal feel the same or has it gone mushy?

Likely you have a hydraulic clutch, and you have lost some or all the fluid. Check the clutch master cylinder fluid level. It should be on the firewall beside the brake master cylinder, (it looks similar but smaller)

yes it is a hydralic clutch and i've already checked all the levels. the clutch donmt feel the same it has lost all presure. i was thinkin the was maybe air in the lines. a couple of friends also told me that it may be the same problem. do u think bleeding the clutch would fix the trouble??

Bleeding the lines cannot hurt, but generally, unless you deliberatly drain fluid, the only way air can get into the system is if some part has failed and allowed fluid to leak out.

If there are no leaks and no air in the line, the master cylinder may have failed or the clutch fork has failed.

there are no leaks or breaks in the line that i can see. i tried bleeding the clutch but it did no good. my next attempt will be to try and get a licenced mechanic to look at it and give me his opinion upon it. that is probably the best route for me to go now. thanks for all the help. if u think of anything i should know just post a reply i will still keep checkin to see if anyone has an opinion they need to share on the deal.

Re: clutch/tranny problems???

MagicRat hit it on the head. Either the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder is bad. Just like a brake master cylinder, when the inside seals wear out, they let fluid squeeze by and therefore don't properly operate the clutch. There doesn't have to be an external leak, its just leaking past itself internally.
