2001 blazer fuel pump??

ok so i have a 2001 2 door blazer with a v6 engine code w for months the fuel pump has made a loud buzzing noise and its hard to start at times. i had it looked at the guy said it had low fuel pressure but it would be ok. so today i started my truck let it warm up it idled for 10 min and all of a sudden i heard it stop. i went outside tried to start and nothing. turn the key to the on position and i dont hear the fuel pump anymore. needless to say i kept cranking and now my battery is dead. but im sure its the fuel pump but is there somthing else it could be? i dont hear it at all anymore and before you couldnt miss it. ive had the tank real low on gas the last couple weeks too. but if it is the fuel pump is it a hard fix on my own.? i dont have the money they want for labor to do it. wondering if i could do it myself. ive changed starters,brakes,small stuff but not too much. if anyone has an idea i would appreciate it........thanks

It is the pump or the fuse blew if it has one.

It can be quite involved if you have never done it before.

Also, yo running it practically empty all the time probably had something to do with it failing.

That or you never changed the fuel filter.

i had the fuel filter changed about 2 months ago. as for the low gas ive been broke and its been on the light alot lately. but yeah when i turn on the key i dont hear it at all, i checked all the fuses the manual said had to do with the fuel pump and they are good.

Thank you for your help. is there anything eles it could be? or is that pretty much it?

Pretty much it, it happened to me a while ago.

Only thing to do is drop the tank and replace the pump.

If you don't know how to do it, have a shop do it or you will be making things worse by winging it when replacing and fixing something you don't know anything about.

I didn't replace mine, I had a shop do it. It can get quite involved and one mistake can have you replacing the sending unit and everything.
