Looking for Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

Hi all, I need some help. Is there any way where can I purchase the Revell 1/24 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti? Any on-line shops that sells Revell kits at reasonable prices because HLJ didn't have Revell products and the Revell distributor here in Malaysia has ceased its operation about a year ago. I need the Scaglietti to add to my Ferrari collection. Thanks.

Hi, I would PM bigfrit. He is building one and lives in Belgium. I would think he could help you out as to where he got his. I know www.modelexpress.net has them here in Canada but I don't know if he ships overseas.

Re: Looking for Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

Hey,

I talked to the revell guy at the nnl. He said we should get it here in america by the end of this year. Keyword "should". And if you don't know revell, expect the kit within the next 2 years. lol. At least they have the tool for it already. Good luck.

Thanks Mike, I'll PM and ask bigfrit if he can help. As for www.modelexpress.net, I think they ship worldwide but when I search for the Scaglietti, nothing turns up

Frank, if you say that the Scaglietti will only arrive America by the end of this year, I don't know when it will arrive Malaysia. lol. All the LHS here that sells Revell products has only their previous products and they don't restock or even bring in new ones because the distributor for Revell here no longer existed. I'm not a fan of Revell but some of their products (by products I don't specifically mean models ) is quite ok.

It was there yesterday when I looked, it is on the homepage but not in the catalogue. I guess it is out of stock right now.

I tought so too Mike. Thanks anyway

I've found it at http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/plamo/ , thanks guys. The price of the Scaglietti is quite steep 4,400yen and the site offers 4,180yen and is still quite steep, that's around RM150.00 (Malaysian currency) for a model kit. Is it worth buying considering it's a Revell product? With that amount of money I can get another Tamiya's Enzo Ferrari + Studio27 Enzo photo etch parts + Fujimi rims and will still have some balance left . Well, I think I'll have think about it before making my decision whether to buy it (I'll still have to buy it if I need to add it into my Ferrari collections) or not.

My guess is that this kit will find its way into the Revell US line by the end of the year or so. Then you can expect a price of $20 or less.
If you don't have to have it now...

Thanks for the information. It looks like I won't be purchasing the Scaglietti some time soon I'll wait for the price to go down or maybe it's easier for me to ask my cousin to buy it from US (any good hobby shops in Chicago anyone? ).

Thanks sjelic. I've looked into that site and they have good price but the shipping is very expensive! (more than the price of the model itself!). After calculating the price and shipping expenses it ends up that I have to pay around RM206!!! (Malaysian currency). I guess I have to wait then

If you are searching for Revell kits, you can also take a look here:

Nimpex

Creditcards are accepted and they speak English. Just email them:

[email protected]

But youre right, shipping from Germany is always very expensive, donīt ask me why

Re: Looking for Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

i can get hold of them pretty easily around my parts (at lest i used to be able to when they were first released)
i've got a "spare" one at the moment...

if you're seriously desparate i could see how many i can get my hands on and then have a look at shipping prices for them.
just let me know where abouts you are.

Re: Looking for Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

as previously said by fellow AF members;

they re absolutely right, I would recommend Nimpex.de , they have a pretty good term of trade, and are mostly quite responding to emails and stuff, I usually get my stuff there.

Thanks for your offer but I don't think I'm that desperate (at least not yet right now... ). Thanks again.

Thanks AFers for your answers and suggestions, I really appreciate it. I'm still hoping that some of the lhs here in Malaysia will bring the kit in though (but not hoping too much... ).
