Question C36 AMG, what's it worth?

Hello everybody,
I recently saw a 1996 C36 AMG at a wholesale dealer with 101,000 miles on it, they are asking I think $14-$15000 for it. It's fairly clean but the miles didn't appeal to me. What would you say it's worth, I heard they are pretty rare too, only 400 a were imported or something. Also how reliable are these or mercedes in general, is it worth it? Thanks in advance for all your replies.
(also KBB doesn't give values for AMG cars)

i owned a 96 c36amg, and it was a great car. kept it until 2000, and I didn't have any big problems with it. the one issue that was major was when i filled it up w/gas which was contaminated w/water. the injectors and a couple of other items had to be replaced. thankfully, the repair was under warrenty, so there was nothing out of pocket for me. later on, the MAF sensor had to be replaced, and the fuel guage had to be replaced (always showed that the tank was full-a guage problem, not a fuel tank problem). overall, there were just wear and tear items that had be be replaced (tires, brakes), but, just to warn you, benz parts are not cheap.

i looked on cars.com, and the c36 listings that i could find were around 13,000-14,000 dollars. 14,00-15,000 for a WHOLESALE dealer is rather high for a c36. the lowest milage car was around 80,000, and the highest was 108,000. your offer seems to be in the correct ballpark, but i am not sure if u should buy a 101,000mi benz for 14,000. you could have reliability issues if the vehicle hasn't been properly maintained, and you might have too pay a lot of money if wear and tear items haven't been recently replaced.

good luck
