95 g20 5spd idle problem
Hi Guys,
I have a 95 g20 5spd. I turn on the car and if the clutch is out and in neutral, it sometimes seems to go from 1k rpm to 100-200 and almost turns off then goes back up to 1k. Its weird, sometimes while normally driving, it seems to not transition the gears slowly. There are 2 possible problems that I can come up with, either the O2 sensor or the clutch is slipping. The car still has the original clutch as far as I know (100k miles) and driven very smoothly and never raced. Anyone else encountered this same problem? Thanks guys. |

If the car is in neutral with clutch fully disengaged, you should not be experiencing the idle drops. It is not the clutch. So.....
-Check to see if your throttle body is clean -Check the MAF ground wire -Make sure your plugs, wires, cap and rotor are in good shape -Check the EGR and make sure it's not clogged -Check your base idle and -Check your timing That should cover all the bases. Most of the procedures can be found on www.se-r.net or you could search the forum and see if they are posted. Hope this helps!
