installing headers on a modular mustang is a NIGHTMARE, long-tubes are worse... i hope you have lots of patience. it will all be worth it in the end tho =).

most guys end up having to remove the starter and/or steering shaft to snake the headers up in there without scratching them... you will have to jack the motor up pretty far, and as far as i'm concerned the farther the better.

That's what i hear but i'm up for it. A buddy of mine is going to help with them, i figure it will take all day, but it beats spending nearly $1,000 for some shop to install them!!!

dude mac lt's are horrible, the qual control on them doesn't exsist. search the mustang specific forums. they have destroyed countless engines. 4v's are a must not the get them. but i still wouldn't put them on a 2v

Re: MAC LT's and Prochamber 34 mins & counting......

MAC is all right. I know they use to have QC issues a while ago, but not sure if there is still a problem with them today.

How can the exhaust destroy an engine? You might get an exhaust leak.

I was reading in my Jegs mag that they sell gaskets for headers on the 4.6L. They sell a couple different brands, but one i was particulary interested in were the metal gaskets. I haven't heard any bad things about them and seem to work pretty well. Is this the exhaust leak you were talking about?

Some people need to stop reading internet rumors.... MAC LT destroy engines.... how?!?!

I have put MAC LT on over 10 4.6 2V and 4-5 4.6 4V. I have seen all these cars still running at least a month after the install and were fine and the 97 Vobra the first 4V I put LT on was still running and kicking ass just fine a year after I put them on.

MAC QC could be in question but I have seen too many people say this part or that part is junk and they didn't make it right(by any manufacturer). Then I take it and put it on no problem just took a little patience.

Most of the bitching/complaining of MAC headers is cause they are not a solid head flange design which takes a bit more muscle and patience to get them on there and bolt holes lined up wether it be 5.0 or 4.6. Instead of patiently fighting and working to get it people just give up quit and say it's the part that's bad!

Re: MAC LT's and Prochamber 34 mins & counting......

exhaust destroying an engine? WTF? The only complaint with Mac LTs that I've heard (other than the obvious installation/reaching the tranny complaints) is that why don't line up properly with some aftermarket H/X pipes.

At the MAC website it says that i have metal gaskets stock, and do not need to replace them. Cool, finally get to save a little $$$.
