Re: Engine swap?

Contact HiFlow5 0. He should be able to tell you what you need, however he swapped a motor into his car which already had a 5.0 in it, not a 6cyl.

Re: Engine swap?

i reccomend that we sticky a thread detailing mustang engine swaps, since answering all these threads on the subject is getting annoying.

Craig(HiFlow's) notchback was a 4cyl. car that had a 5.0 swapped into it by the previous owner he bought it from. HiFlow could definetly tell you how to swap a 5.0 for a 4cyl but he, like me is tired of answering this question.

If someone wants to write a tech article covering what is needed to swap a 5.0 for a 4cyl, I would be more than happy to then have them send it to me for review and as long as it is ok will post in permanently up here in the forum with full credit given to the writer.

I however due to the plethura of info through a simple google search or a search in this forum have no desire to write one. So if there are any volunteers to do a write-up speak now, or forever hold ya peace.

Re: Engine swap?

Here's a list if things that need to be changed right away, just to be able to make the car drive.
-motor
-motor mounts
-fuel lines
-wiring harnesses
-computer

Now here's a list of things that should be changed for the sake of safety and longevity.
-trans
-rearend
-all suspension components
-whole brake system
-driveshaft
-wheels

Now since your car currently has a 3.8 in it, you will need to find a new K-member and replace it. The 4cyl and V8 share the same K-member, but the straight 6 uses a different one.

Like Bobby said. If someone wants to write a detailed acticle, we'll throw it up in the techincal refernce sticky. If I get around to it, I juat may end up doing it, because I already have most of the pictures.

If there's another questions, I have many how to's on my cardmain site.
