Think of it as holding a bar that has two sets of weights on the ends and another bar with two sets of weights in the middle. The bar with the weights on the end will take more force to rotate around the CG. The bar with the weights in the middle will be much easier to rotate the bar around the CG.
This is the same with cars. If you have a FR (engine in front, transaxle rear) you have the majority of weight at the front and back making steering less responsive. If your driving a Ferrari 360, its engine and trans. are located behind the driver as close to the center as possible. The majority of its weight lies close to the center of gravity therefore; increase steering response. This is a pretty basic explanation (but hey, I only had 5min.) so I hope this helps. |
