Lancia 037: Completed (some time ago)

Through lack of anything completed just lately i decided to show a model i did a while ago. It is the model that got me back into model making after a 10 year or so abscence. It is made by Hasegawa and is 1:24 scale.

Thanks for the comments guys.
What's your #1 favourite rally car Sjelic? Mine is anything Cosworth ever stuck an engine in.

That is good choice also, but mine has to be Italian, the name is Stratos, the most beautifull rally car ever and the third one is Integrale, they are all waiting in line to be built.

Cool. I built the Stratos also but the decals were very hard to put on. So it doesn't look too good. It is in my cupboard awaiting restoration. And yes it is a pretty spectacular looking car.

Nice car. I have the same kit waiting to be built myself. Those pics should help with the detailing: Do you have bigger versions?

Great car, I have one of thoose myself. As with all of my other models it's started but a long way from finish. Do you have any tips on the build, pros and cons!? Just found these pages, great pics of the 037 among others! http://www.carclassic.com/html/RACING1.htm

Wow, Proosen, that is a great website. Source pics for just about any rally car (from about 20 years ago). It's a shame there are no more modern cars on there. It would be like the one stop shop for all your rally source pics. Oh yeah, tips.Use those pics to get the colours right and you can't go wrong. I kind of guessed alot of the colours as you might be able to see. Also those decals are pretty tuff to put on. The ones that run the whole length of the car i mean. If i would do it again i would cut out the red stripe in the middle and spray it on instead, and then place the blue stripes.
Did that make any sense?

All advice is good advice, just choose which one suites you and neglect the others Hmm, paint the red you say...sounds like a good idea. I'm kind of charging up the batteries for a complex build with lots of details on this one.

Re: Lancia 037: Completed (some time ago)

Yeah, i say paint the red stripe because it will save trying to get the decal to mold exactly to the shape around the headlight. That was the hardest part for me.
Hope to see some progress on this one.
