Question new to the game - looking for advice

i have a '99 g20 (basic no fog lights, spoiler, etc). i never thought about doin' anything to it until i saw some of the pics on g20.net. i never knew how much potential it has.
anyway, i'm unhappy most w/the 140 hp. it looks like a fast car. i'd rather look slow and have a surprise waiting.
the other problem is the cosmetic issues because it's the basic version. i have no idea where to start or what to do first. i'm afraid i may do something and then regret it later.
right now i want to know the best tire for the 195/65/15's. any recommendations. the firestone affinity's wore out fast.
sometime in the future i want to fix the list below so any suggestions are welcome and apprecitated:

fog lights (kit i suppose)
sunroof
spoiler (maybe)
bigger tires (what brand)
17in rims (i guess)
more hp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
interior accents (steering wheel, gear shift, other suggestions)

if anyone has some nice pics, post em if you can. i'd be ashamed to show mine at this point.

The best advice I could give at this point is to take a couple of hours or so when you have the time and 'read' through this forum, g20.net and se-r.net. That will give you a very good background for what is out there and what you can do.

As for horsepower, how fast do you want to go? How much are you willing to spend? Those are the same questions!

Welcome to the boards!

Most of this information can be found either on www.g20.net or do a search in the forums.

As far as those mods go, here are some sites you can do some browsing around on also...

www.nopi.com for interior stuff/suspension/etc.
www.digitalracer.com for pretty much anything and everything
www.tires.com for wheels/tires
www.tirerack.com for wheels/tires/suspension
www.stillen.com for suspension/interior/front aero kit/etc.

as far as tires, i'd look for some 195/60 instead of the 195/65, the 195/60's come stock on a 1999-2001 g20 "t", the smaller sidewall would increase your handling capabilities by a margin, check www.tirerack.com for that size tire, they'll have reviews, test and surveys on the different model tires, good luck

For more websites, go to the off topic forum and look at the thread at the top that says, "Check out these Websites". Tons of sites there.

No problem we're here to help. It's going to take some time but I think it's better to be educated about these things...less chance of someone taking you for a ride.
