I'm getting code 15 and having problems starting my car. I took it to a garage and the guy said replace the ignitor module. But they cost like $400. The distributor is still good I think it's just the ignitor module that went bad. But everything is only like 6 months old. Anyways, if anyone has one for sale cheap, let me know.

Actually, now that I think about it, I have an ignitor I could sell you for $20.

okay whenever ive had a problem with my iginiter i go to pepbobys and get an entire coilpack with igniter for 50-60 bucks. might sound a little $ but it's better than taking the orginial coilpack apart to put new igniter in.

I have the receipt for my distributor, but I called the place and they said the Ignition Module is not included. I'm not really familiar with these. Is the Ignitor & Ignition Module the same? If my car sits for a while, it'll give me hell to start up. You got a Ignitor for $20? I gonna check mine with a voltmeter first, then i'll let ya know.

Note for anyone that's having distributor-related trouble on their Honda: replace the coil, the igniter (also known as the ignition module), cap, rotor, plugs, and wires first. If it's not one of those components and you really do need the new distributor (I think more rare than people say) you will need to buy all of those components anyway. The distributors come pretty basic so you might as well try the coil, igniter, cap, and rotor first. I did and it solved the problem. |
