Mustang questions

So, today I found 'the perfect' mustang. A black 2002 GT. But...seeing as how the closest thing to perfection is imperfection. I'll start with those. First of all...the headliner in the back is 'sagging' a little bit..and it kind of hangs down moreso than others I've seen. The center console with that little storage thing that opens shakes a bit. It has your normal parking lot paint chips and what not on it. And a larger chip on the hood. Which I really don't mind...it makes it easier to accept other dings that will inevitably occur. Also, while vigoursly accelerating the shifter seemed to start vibrating quite hard and I am wondering if that is normal. Oh...and it has the Mach 1000 stereo with the speakers and stuff in the trunk and I'm wondering how much that affects the quarter mile times. So...if you read this much...please comment on what you think. Thanks!!

Obviously you have reservations and that's telling you something. If you are serious about buying it have a professional mechanic run through the vehicle bumper to bumper. Being a 2002 it should be in great shape unless someone abused the hell out of it.

i dunno about the headliner and other stuff, but as far as the shifter goes, i'm not all that suprised. the shifter is mounted directly to the top of the transmission. if you're used to a front driven stick car, it might feel a little odd because of the lack of bushings between your hand and the trans.

#1 Black is a bitch color.... although I like the way it looks I'd never get a black car, can go from sweet to bad looking too easily.

#2 How many miles on the car?

#3 Couldn't tell you if the shift has to much vibration unless I drove it. Any tranny that the shifter goes directly into and mounts to the tranny does have vibration coming through it. Does this mean your worries are uncomfirmed no.... try driving another 99+ GT and see if it feels the same to you.

Re: Mustang questions

um....I don't know where you live but you can't get a black 2002 GT mustang with 30k miles on it for under $15k where I live. It was $18,995 and I got them to $15,495. and I'm going to get them down two or so hundred when I go today. So yeah.

Re: Mustang questions

i live in NY. 18,995, go to kellie blue book. www.kbb.com maybe where you live is a bit more or less. but if the car has some problems, you should try to get them down more. buy the price 18995 its a dealer. they are in it to screw you over. everyone knows that, you should you want it for 14500 or no go. hey its your call. i mean, a 02 gt is sweet, i just dont want to see ppl get screwed over. but good luck man, i hope everything works out with it. let up know how things go

Re: Mustang questions

They started playing games and was trying to jack the price up so I told them no deal and the finance officer got all upset and threw his papers and was like "BYE". but, I found an 02 silver GT with the silver bullet package for $14,999 and it only has 21k miles on it. The interior is beautiful and the exterior only has like 2 tiny chips. I think that's the winner now.
