Stang GT exhaust

I've heard both clips of the ravin z55 setup and the slp loudmouth setup. I was wondering if the slp setup is street legal because it has resonaters not mufflers and which would provide better hp and torque gains, also if another setup would be better keep in mind a $450 budget.

i say other, because i like dynomax. i just had a complete custom system installed with long tubes and 3" pipes, and i love the sound of it. real quiet at idle, sounds great when you get on it, reasonably quiet on the freeway. i think that's better than flowmasters, which everybody freakin has. and the mufflers i have are proven to flow better than flowmaster 40s anyway. you can get complete systems that bolt right up, a lot of them are cat-back, which maintains legality.

take my advice: dont' clamp your exhaust. have it welded up. it seals better and lasts longer.

Re: Stang GT exhaust

i just got MAC flowpath 2.5" on my 94GT and they sound great, weren't really hard at all to install since everything just bolts up and they have nice 3" stainless steel tips. Plus i got it new for 287 including shipping

Re: Stang GT exhaust

I used to despise the thought of exhaust clamps. Then I started working on cars for a living, so I wouldnt exactly rule them out.

I was considering that a clamp lol. You are right thought. Its a very leak free system, I just hate those damn springs and rusted ass bolts. I normally run the car for a few minutes to get the pipes hot and expanded then lay into it with the impact.

Re: Stang GT exhaust

I hate hate hate hate hate SLP exhaust!!!!!!!! There's an 03 Cobra running the SLP Loudmouth catback around here, and I am not a fan of the way it sounds. Way too raspy and just sounds wrong to me!

Since buying my notch, I have fallen in love with the way MAC sounds, and is one of the most unique and best sounding, IMO.

The stock Ford ball and socket on Mustang since 87-ish don't have the spring set-up you thinking of but it is close. Never had an issue with those bolts an impact doesn't fix. There exhuast you can't expect the bolts not to rust firm at all?

I'm with Craig I love the MAC sound and the MAC cat-back I have is 4 years old driven through 2 New England winters and still not even close to rusting through.

Anyway, I love my 50 series (Force II) flows...tame but rumbly at idle/part throttle, screaming at WOT.

Re: Stang GT exhaust

I prefer my Magnapacks, the SLP stuff sounds similar to the Magnapacks, but the packs are not as raspy.
