there is no substitute for slipping a 4 or 8 guage wire through your firewall (there's a rubber grommet somewhere there- look for it) and running this wire behind your dash- pull up the door sills and pulling up the carpet and running the wire along the side or if you can- under the seat. as you move to the rear- you might have to punch a tiny hole in the metal that supports the rear seat bottom so that the wire can pass towards the trunk w/o being noticed under the carpet...


as far as the ground goes... you'll want to just scrape the paint off of a metal area in your trunk (preferably somewhere where you won't see or damage it) and drill in a screw and ground your system there... i think mine is grounded in the spare tire compartment.

oh wait- there is a substitute for that- just take the wire- and slip it up along to the corner of the hood where it meets the windshield and run the wire on the outside of the car on top of the roof to the trunk.

Well my system went in pretty smooth. I wanted to do the same thing as you -- little modificatioin as possible. I found that the easiest accessable gromet was on the passenger side of the firewall. It's deep (wish i had a dig cam to show you) but you should be able to follow wires that go to it. once I found the gromet I shoved (literally) a metal coat hanger (always carry one in your toolbox) through the rubber and out through the interior. Here's the tricky part. The heater core/blower is packed under the passenger side dash. It's impossible to get at anything. You have to get it where the hanger come out downward so it can slip through the metal hole that's already there. Sounds tricky but you'll eventually get it. Once the hanger's there put the wire on the hanger and tape it EXTREMELY securely. Then spray the crap out of it with some WD-40 or silicon. Pull the coat hanger out from under the hood and you'll eventually get the wire through the tiny hole made by the coat hanger.

Notes:
I used 8-guage wire so I'm sure 4 guage might require making the hole in the rubber bigger.
Be careful! There are stock wires that are going through that rubber that are unprotected. The sharp hanger end can damage the wires...If you feel resitance - STOP! Unless it feels like rubber flexing.
The battery is on the driver side while the easily accessible gromet is on the passenger. Really sucks to run such a long length but it was easiest for me. Just beware of the length of wire you have. You don't want to run out.

As for the ground it's even simplier! The shock towers can easily be exposed from the trunk. Just fold down the seats and peel back the trunk panels. Take off one of the bolts from the shock tower, and scrap away paint. Make sure you scrap away paint where u get a shiny metal surface!

To run the wires through to the trunk do as Cliffud said. It's plain and simple. If you use 8-guage wire you can slip the wire through stock holes that are behind the black plastic trim that is exposed when you fold the seats down.

wow...guess that's all with no drilling required.

and remember that you don't want your ground too far from the amp. less than two feet.
