blower fan problems......ideas?
Hey all, New to the Board and proud G20 owner for 8 years....
My blower fan only operates on high (4) setting. Fuses good and all other functions are operating. So, I guessing its either the the switch or a resistor. I can chk continuity between the harness terminals but where will the resistor be located? Is this a pricey part ? Any one else have this issue before? Love to hear about it. Thanks in advance Steve

it is the resistor it is located under the glove box just climb under ther and you will see it connected to a harness real easy to replace takes about 5 min. but i am not sure how much. When I had to replace mine the mechanic told me that my switch had to be replaced too so i am not sure if you will have to replace the switch i think i would start with the resistor. hope this helps.

It's the blower resistor. It's between the back of the glovebox and where the carpet starts. All you have to do is pull it out and replce it. It's only a couple bucks. It's about 3" by 2" and flat. It looks more like a component board than a typical resistor. Anyways, real easy to do.

And it seems to fail on every G20 or Sentra made by Nissan from 1991-1996.

The same thing happened to me. I only had the 4 setting for 3-4 months till it started to flick on and off and now all the settings don't work. I took it to the stealership and they wanted $69 bucks for just the diagnostic not including the parts and labor so I left. So where do I buy this resistor? I can't wait to fix it I've been without a fan forever just pushing the heater or ac button and cracking the back windows just a tad so something would come out the vents.

I just went to the Parts section of my local Nissan stealership, said I needed a "blower resistor for a 1991 Sentra", they went to the back and got it, I paid, went outside, my dad opened up the thing on the bottom passenger side of the dash and put the thing in. 5 min repair, seriously.
