Re: general engine question
You have a few choices
A Front wheel drive SR20DET(205hp stock) A front wheel drive SR20VE(190hp stock) or bolt on's for your SR20DE With the DET you could be running mid 13's in the 1/4 and with the VE you probably be running high 13's. If you're looking for an easy performance upgrade tho, just look into modding your DE. You're probably running about a 16 flat in the stock SE-R now and with a few good bolt-ons you can hit mid-low 14's. It's all about your budget. If you have less than $3500 or so to spend at a time, then just look into bolt-ons. Acceleration matching an S2000 isn't too shabby! PM if you want more details about mods and their effectiveness

Re: general engine question
Pulsar GTI-R would work too. Its an All wheel drive tranny, but will bolt onto the SE-R tranny. You would want limited slip though, otherwise, good luck with traction.

Re: general engine question
the stock lsd in the se-r tranny is no good its viscous and wears out after a few hundred miles. it only came up to 97. A SR20ve swap will only give you mid to high 14's with intake headers and exhaust a little more mods on it will give you high 13 and low 14 but expensive parts and hard to find.

Re: general engine question
hmm, I didn't think there was much difference in the times from B13 to B14. Cause a B13 with the VE will run around a 14.0 with no mods other than the engine itself.
