can you salvage H.I.D. lights from other cars?
lots of cars have HID like lexus and bmw. can you remove these components and install them in your car or would the wiring harness' not work or what?

Yes you can only if they have not been in an accident or where the HID has been hit with shock. It says in my instructions on my HID if I got into some kind of accident and the HID ballast was hit hard then it would not work anymore cause its a safety issue with the high voltage it takes to fire the HID bulb.
Somebody put Audi TT HID projectors into a 6th Gen Accord. http://www.importlove.com/forum/show...=6205#post8417

Whoa...elite, you're all over the place!!!
![]() DDAAAANG!!! that is NICE. the guy took my idea!! HAHAHAHAHA Do your remember my customized projector headlights?? ![]() After I worked on my headlights, I really wanted to swap a projector housing from another car. My dream was the BMW (of course)....but the only problem was money. I will have to guy the parts from a BMW and it's wiring supplies. Anyways...too bad I wasn't the first to do it, but at least I NOW know it can be done!! ![]() Also, it's nice to know that I was probably one of the first to have projectors on a 4th gen. My plan was to redo my headlights this summer. (Consider that I was in an accident and one of my headlights is damaged) My hope was to put in same high quality PIAA driving lights, instead of the cheap fog lights that I have. I was going to get HID foglights, but they would be 500-700 dollars out the door. I guess I will just have to settle for $150 from PIAA or CATZ
