I'm only in partial agreement with you on this Oz. True, this forum is Completely Off Topic, and not "Usless Crap" but where else can we discuss soda? Or perhaps post a picture of our pets?
Now, I agree completely however, if a thread is started by the name "Post Pics of your Pets" and three posts down somebody starts typing about how all the bushes in their back yard died - then yes it's closing time. If the thread stays on topic, even though it is inane, I don't see why it should be closed, unless of course it's just somebody writing about how earlier today they blew their nose into toilet paper instead of tissue paper, or some other such nonsense.

Blokes got it straight. There is a lot of stupid stuff in here and a lot of misplaced stuff. Then agaion, some people just don't see it. The see off-topic and assumes that w/e it is they have to say goes there. They don't look for the other fiorusm which makes since, it's not really ther fault.

But yeah, there are is a lot of schiz of people and their day. The other thing is, it doesn't help that AF vets seem to get away with stuff while others don't. Talking how the weather is, Toksin having a funny accent, which I want to know whether is true but yeah...newbies may see it like, if they can do that, I should write about, this.

I didn't click your links but I'm assuming they're good examples of pointless threads. I understand the weather thing was cool and stayed on-topic but you gotta see where I'm comin' from. I'm just giving a chance to them, but I'm peace with w/e the mods think, y'all know that.

I think there is a lot of stupid and pointless stuff on the COT forums. Depending on the title of the thread, sometimes I choose to not even read it. Sometimes I read a stupid/pointless thread and say to myself "okay, I don't really care" and just move on to something else. I don't know, maybe I don't understand since I don't have the responsibility of overlooking every thread, but in my opinion if somebody asks a stupid or pointless question or makes a stupid or pointless comment, and other people are replying to that same prompt in a non-flaming matter, I don't see a need to close it. I mean, if people are replying to it, somebody must have at least a minor interest in whatever the thread starter is talking about. I don't know, in a forum labeled "Completely off-topic", I go into it assuming there is a bunch of crap I don't care about anyway.

yea this is off-topic, says we can talk about anything not related to cars. Who's to say which threads are pointless and which aren't??? People have different interests, and if people respond, obviously some people don't think it's pointless. I thought this section we can just shoot shit and bullshit. What is every thread supposed to have a life changing event? Make us somehow a more educated open minded person?

OT is not what it use to be by far. Seems those days have gone by the wayside anyway I tire of seeing the same old shiz in here day after day. Post up some freaky or funny news headlines from you're corner of the world, post some random pics of cool, bizarre, or funny content you have come across while surfing the net, or captured by your digicam from daily life. Just remember no nudity.
Finally keep the jokes, "cool game" links, hilarious flash movies, and odd ass website links coming these are usually entertaining.

I used to come here all the time and post stuff, and respond to threads, but like John said, it's not as it once was, and that's disappointing. I see some of the same stuff as far as ideas go that it's just boring anymore.
