Exclamation Street Racing Mag Article

An interesting article on street racing, placed in Stuff Magazine.

http://www.autothority.com/magazines/stuff.htm

Here's a quote:

"Everyone's trading Camaros for Civics because you get major horsepower with minor engine work," says 23-year-old Dustin Worles. Translation: It's easier to hop up a Mazda than a Mustang-and you get the extra juice of blowing away, say, a loaded muscle mobile with a cheerleader's Civic. Ali's four-cylinder VW has readily whupped ass on six-cylinder turbos -and nearly taken out a supercharged Mustang V-8. "[That guy] had to hit his nitrous to beat me," Ali says.

...and it goes on. I would like to hear everyone's opinion on this article.

Its a lil bit innacurrate and shit, but its fairly well written...i liked it ha ha....expecially this:

"This is a very expensive hobby," he explains. 'I know a guy who lived on instant noodles for six months so he could save up for a turbo upgrade on his Supra."

Re: Street Racing Mag Article

sound's like they talked to the guy's from teckademic's the yellow mx6 and then hiding in a back lot covered by cardboard *which they did in the 1st teckademic's video. now that I look at the date If you watch the 1st teckademic's video you can see the whole story basically on tape. and metro *the nickname for the dc streetracing spot* is still like that now, it was shut down with speed bumps but now it's back open, havent been up there in awhile but im sure it still get's hott. the MD/DC/VA street racing scene has very very fast car's and big money races.

So wait....."everyone's trading Camaros for Civics because you get major horsepower with minor engine work"? Excuse me, but it was my understanding that you have to put MORE money into a civic than a camaro to get it to go faster, no? What tha fuck does this sentence mean? Also, his "VW" almost took out a Supercharged 'stang WITH nitrous?
So in other words his VW kept up with a nitrous-fed, blown, V-8? Somebody please correct me if i'm wrong.

Re: Street Racing Mag Article

Why couldnt it?

You dont know what he has under the hood.

You dont know how well either of the two drivers can actually drive.

You dont know shit other than the Mustang had a v8, sc, and Nitrous.
