in progress: R32 GT-R

Here's my latest project, the Tamiya R32 Skyline GT-R. Only have a couple of pics @ this moment, haven't got much time to work on it...school is much more important

Anyway, it's going to be box stock, only the OZ Futura's added and some detail on the engine. Oh, and and front bumper is somewhat modified on the side air intakes.

Here goes

Re: in progress: R32 GT-R

Very kool start, Im going to keep this in a close watch since i am going to start my R32 in a couple of days , messed around with it last night, trying to cut the holes for the vents that go ontop of the center vent thingie. It was a pain in the arse i must admit, the rims look really cool, i wish my R32 came with rims like those

Re: in progress: R32 GT-R

Major setback!

The primer had been curing for the last week, so today was going to be PAINT day...Got everything working, spraycan warmed, gloves and glasses on, etc...when I saw that the primer on the roof AND on the trunklid was a little dark...!!
CAUSE?! Body oil! I must have touched the body before I primed it without noticing...
Now I'll have to strip the primer on those spots and re-prime them...

Damn, another week...

Looks like a promising project. Too bad about the primer. Here's my
Get a food dehydrator. That completely dries the paint in less than an hour. There was a thread on this subject quite some time ago. Hope this helps.

Re: in progress: R32 GT-R

wrong choice in color. no tamyia spray replicates nissans gunmetal gray. Their gunmetal gray just isn't right and the gunship gray you chose is a VERY matte colour

Re: in progress: R32 GT-R

Finally got to paint the body...and chose Mica Blue after all...
Haven't got any pics yet, but just wanted to hear some opinions on the wheel colour...
Leave them chrome or paint them:
white,
gold,
black or any other combination/colour?

Finally able to post some pics..!
Sorry about the lighting, those were taken in the morning, in just 5 mins..
The paint job is not that great, still has some orange peel, but hey..gonna live with it.
The parts that I'm most proud of are the shocks. Hand painted with no masks at all..eheheh
Anyway, enjoy the pics.
