Porsche Cayenne

The Porsche SUV thread was originally in the Concept Cars forum, but now with firm plans for production, there might as well be a spot for it in the Porsche forum. For more information on the Cayenne, click to the thread.

Below is Motor Trend's redone spyphoto:

Funny you say that; Ferrari has already gotten damn close to having an SUV of their own. The LaForza, made in Italy at the Pininfarina (yes, that's the same name associated with Ferrari) factory, was sold in small numbers here in the U.S. with some Ferrari components such as leather. Of course, the name LaForza represents it's own company, but some may like to think it's a close relative to Ferrari. (i.e. I once saw a red LaForza with Ferrari placards on it).

Below a shot of LaForza Magnum:

I guess each automaker wants to show the world that they are versatile in engineering.

I once saw a Porsche poster that boldly stated, "Most car companies have a sports car in their lineup. Porsche has a lineup of sports cars". Not so anymore, I guess.

The Cayenne makes me sick... I'll probably break down or go nuts when i see some 30 year old woman dropping off her kids to school in one... its just not right, porsche shouldnt have done this... funny how they released the plans to make it after Ferry (?) Porsche died.. the guy must be turning in his grave... it was said he was hugely against the project... cant blame him can u

cheers

I do not like it except for the 450hp engine. Can you imagine it offroad,I cannot. It also is not a true porsche with a VW engine in it.What a sad day on this for Porsche.

It's all about being profitable and surviving as a business entity. Porsche is the most profitable auto manufacturer in the world because they make good business decisions (mostly), so they must be doing the right things.

well Ferdinand Porsche wasn't like a true car lover, like enzo ferrari

he was more of an inventor, and he liked machines with utility

so i don't think he'd be too dissapointed with the cayenne

sadly
