LOL @ HLJ Packaging

Bit of a comedy off the modelling topic, but surpose its part of it...

My lastest order came through the post yesterday, the box was big enough to fit 6 kits in (huge) but contained 1 magazine and 1 set of wheels and about 50 of the air pocket bags!!! LOL

Seriously this is proof of the japanese sense of humor. At least they dont get lost in the post!

Whats the biggest box theyve dispatched to you with nothing inside ???

My friend got a huge box from them w/one tiny set of photoetch.

The box I got yesterday w/my new Miura and four wheel sets was crushed from the bottom (where they don't put any air pouches), and the Miura has a good bit of damage, and I'm STILL waiting to hear back from HLJ...

The friggin' post office taped up the damaged box...from the top it looked fine. Looks like a friggin' forklift ran into my box...

Re: LOL @ HLJ Packaging

Yeah HLJ love their big boxes, I once ordered a single F1 Modelling magazine from them and expected it would be packed in some kind of flat padded envelope. Nope. Same old huge box filled with airbags!

I ordered from HLJ before they were popular, they usedd to package them n different size boxes, and instead of those bubble things, it came packed in Japanese newspapers! I think I still have that somewhere.

That was also when they used to ship UPS, when stuff came in 2-3 weeks, now it's 4-5!

I know this isn't about HLJ, but I had the oppsite experience from etamiya.

I ordered three kits, and got two boxes kit boxes taped together and wrapped in brown paper.
The third kit they had opened, placed half of the pieces in the box with the first kit, and the other half of the pieces in the box with the second kit. And then flattened the box for the third and taped it to the bottom of the other two.

Not that it was a real problem. Other than I had parts for two different porsches in one box.

Hmmm

It's been awhile since I've ordered from HLJ, or done any modeling (2 months maybe) Well.. anyways, I've had no problems with them besides the fact that it takes sooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long for them to ship.. but none the less they're good..
