98 Explorer Sport not spraying washer fluid

My 1998 explorer sport all of the sudden stopped spraying washer fluid. I tried having someone else press the handle in, but I did not hear anything "trying" to work.

By the way, the fluid is full. I have no idea if this is broken, needs cleaned or what. I'm not exactly experienced in working with cars, but do try to learn what i can. It is the front and back wipers. The wipers go, but no fluid :-(

Thanks for the help guys!

check to 12v at the pump wires. if it's there you need a new pump. if not check the fuses, wires, and switch.

I will have to see. I'll check ASAP. What do you mean "check to 12v at the pump wires?" Thanks,

Jason

when the washer button is pressed there should be 12v across the wires at the pump. come on you must have some knowledge about electricity! there should be 2 wires 1 ground, 1 power. you could also use a test light. ground the clip in the negative battery terminal, probe the power wire and get someone to push the button. it should light up when pressed.

Honestly, I'm not a moron or anything. I just have limited knowledge of cars. You name, I can do it.....that's why I'm trying to pick up some knowledge on this. Well, I'll give it a look and then we will see! Wish me luck!

I just had the same problem. It was a bad fuse. Not one of the spare fuses included inside the fuse box cover either. It's a 7.5v. I stopped into the local auto parts store and picked up a box for a few bucks and fixed it right in the parking lot. Reference the owners manual for the exact fuse number and location.
