Re: Steering Wheel Replacment
I Was For Sure Someone Would Have Some Info On This,i Guess Changing Steering Wheels On A New Truck Is Odd But I Hate The Feel Of The Thinner Wheel.i Like The Factory Wrapped Leather Wheel Much Moreone Of My Ram Has The Factory Leather The Other One Doesn't.bought Wheel From Dealer But Not Much Help When I Ask Him Questions On Installation.they Really Wanted To Do It And Charge Me 4 Or 5 Hrs Of Labor. No Way Can't Be That Hard To Change.

Re: Steering Wheel Replacment
It isn't that hard. Make sure you disconnect the - battery cable and wait 5 min. if it has cruise take off the switch and unplug connector(2 screws behind on wheel).pop off the steering wheel cover with a small screwdriver, they are locking tabs. then remove the 4 nuts attaching the airbag module which are on the back of wheel. if you have to move the wheel make sure after you remove the airbag you center the wheel and don't move it. unplug the connector. make sure when you set the airbag module down it is facing up. remove the retaining nut. use a steering wheel puller to remove wheel. put new wheel on and torque to 45lbs. put back together as you took it off. proceed at your own risk! if you aren't sure of doing it don't. you can also buy a haynes manual for about $15 and it will tell you how to do anything on the truck that you want.
