i installed a performance chip that re-maps the air/fuel mixute among other things. it works great but know i notice the smell of gas coming from the engine after i get out of my car and i never did before. could the fuel mixture be too rich? how can i correct this? retard the timing?

You can buy an AIR/FUEL Controller and you can get at a variety of places. Then you will be able to set the Air/fuel mixture to where its just right, but since its a reprogrammed ECU they must have done it for a reason. Check on AFC controllers.
