parts question =
i bought a 1999 escort lx recently. 96,000 miles on it now. ain,t sure of timing belt replacement. timing belt cover has a marking of white paint slashed in the center of the cover. also a small slash on the top of the cover. do you think it,s some mechanic,s marking to show the job was done? salvage yards in this area do that with their parts. jim.
