Starter Problems

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem, and if so, what they did what they did to fix it:
I own a '92 Tracker, 4x4. The car will not start in WARM weather unless you "tap" the starter. It will start if it is cold out, no tapping necessary. Also won't start if it has been running for a bit, assuming because the engine is warm. There is no need for a second person when tapping, I can tap the starter then get in and it starts. This is getting frustrating and want to know what the problem is! Thanks!
