Starting problem when raining

I have a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Orvis Edition with 125,000 miles on it and whenever it rains or there is moisture present the vehicle will crank just fine but will never start. If I open the hood after the rain and let it air out for a few hours it will start. Obviously this is not very convenient to have to plan my work schedule depending on whether or not it is goin to rain so I would like to fix the problem but I am not much of a car person. Is there anything that I can myself to try and diagnose the problem instead of taking it to a shop??

HI YOU COULD GET A CAN OF WD-40 & SPRAY THE PLUG WIRES & THE DISRTIBUTOR CAP. YOU MAY HAVE A CRACKED DISTRIBUTOR CAP & MOISTUREIS GETTING INSIDE THE CAP. TRY SPARYING THE WIRES ,CAP & THE COIL & WIRES, WON'T HURT ANYTHING DALE [email protected]

Just an addition to Dales post, Take the distrbutor cap off and spray WD-40 inside the cap and on the rotor. This diperses the moisture, and has saved my butt while splashin in the water holes while offroading! It also helps keep moisture out afterwards.

u might need to tighten the cap up, maybe it is look and allowing moisture to get under the cap.
