Unhappy replacing water pump

I'm wanting to replace the water pump myself, I really can't afford to take it to a garage. They are asking way out of my price range. I've had quotes anywhere from $550-$1000. I'm looking for comments or instructions on how I can do it myself....

Please HELP....
Thanks,
Randall....

Re: replacing water pump

I replaced the water pump on my 95 grand am last jan.The pump was cheap, the worst part was taking off the muffler and exhaust manifold to get at the water pump.

Re: replacing water pump

Hello, what if your 8th digit in the VIN is a "V", is it still an easy job
