s10 blazer shuts down after heating up
my 1993 s10 blazer stalls after I have been driving it for awhile and will not restart unless it sits for an hour or so. I replaced the plugs, wires, dist cap, rotor, coil, fuel pump and had the injection system cleaned, but it still stalls. There must be some electrical part that is overheating and not allowing spark. My battery is full of juice, but it won't fire up until it sits a spell. Any suggestions on what might be the cause? Ignition module, a relay, what could it be???

I think we are having similar problems. Take a look at this thread. Let us know if you find out anything and I'll do the same. Thanks!

As mentioned in some of the other posts on this forum, your problem may be due to the low oil pressure safety killing the ignition. The switch, typically built into the oil pressure sending unit, may be bad, or, the engine's hot oil pressure may be so low that the safety trips. My 1983 S-10 with the 2.8 V6 will light the low oil pressure idiot light at idle if I don't use at least 10W-40 oil in it.
Hope this helps: Oldengineer |

Re: s10 blazer shuts down after heating up
I put in the ac delco one and it still stalled out. So i took the bed of my truck off. Hook up my test light to the grey wire that goes to the fuel pump. Electricity was going to the pump when it stalled out. THIS IS WHAT IT WAS. WHEN I SLIGHTLY MOVED THE PLUG THAT GIVES THE PUMP ITS VOLTAGE THE ENGINE SPUTTERED. I LOOKED AT THE PLUG AND THE PIN INSIDE THE PLUG WAS NOT CENTERED. I CENTERED IT AND MY TRUCK IS RUNNING PERFECT. I LET IT SiT AND RUN FOR 1 HOUR TO BE SURE, And drove it to work the next day.
EVERYONE PLEASE CHECK THE SAME THING I DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PICTURE OF MY RIDE AT: http://www.cardomain.com/member_pag...07&cat=25&val=1 |
