'97 Camry coolant change

Hello everybody:

Is it wise to add engine coolant by ourselves? My '97 Camry's engine coolant is at "low" limit. The car is no problem now, I just don't like go to dealer. Thanks!

Yes, it is very wise to add coolant by ourselves as this is part of the normal preventative maintenance. Please, make sure your engine is DEAD COLD before you open the radiator cap. You don't want to end up looking like M--hael J--ckson if you would open it when it is hot and it boiled out at you. Just fill the plastic resevoir tank up to the full limit line with a 50/50 mixture of coolant and water. You might as well check your oil while you're at it. Again, if it's low, just add the proper viscosity oil up to but not beyond the full limit line. Happy motoring!
