help please!! MAF problem

im getting a code 34 (MAF sensor) on my 87 ciera 2.8. Im not getting a too lean/rich code just the MAF. Is there anyway i can try cleaning it or possibly repairing it or is the circuit board shot? Id like to try to fix it if i can before i go spend $80 for one. A new one or fixed one will help the stuttering and bad gas mileage too right? I replaced the o2 sensor a few weeks ago that helped a little on the stuttering not much tho. also the last few days my cars has been idling really low, like its about to stall when i slow to a red light. it doesnt stall, the engine just slows waayy down and i cant hear it (even with my loud custom exhaust) for a few secs until i stop and the idle goes back to normal. i have a new oil pressure switch im gonna go buy the tool to change it tomorow and put it in. ill see if that helps. any advice and the MAF sensor? thanks for any help.

Re: help please!! MAF problem

Most likely you will have to replace the MAF sensor....If I remember correctly, there was a bulletin that updated that system to a "speed denisity" air / fuel calculation and eliminated the MAF sensor.
I'll do a bulletin search later and try to find it for you.
