can i get codes from my civic?
I have 94 civic DX. Is there a way to retrieve diagnostic codes from the car? I know on some GMs you somehow jump places on the connector under the dash to get the dash to flash them, is there a way to do that with my civic?

There is a blue connector hanging loose, or tucked away, just above your ECU. (ECU is located on the right of the pasenger's footwell). If you jump the wire when the check engine light is on, the check engine light should start flashing your trouble code. Never got a check engine light so far so I did not test this but it should work since this is the same connector that needs to be jumped when adjusting the timing.

never had my check engine light come on either. That is interesting to know where the ECU is though, I will be looking for it and that connector, It'll be good to know in the future.

Well I do not know if I'm reading your reply correctly either. The ECU is not under the carpet like in the 4th gen; it is on the side (the right side as you look from the seat).
![]() Go here and get yourself the repair manual : Helms Manuals I strongly recommend buying the hard copy unless you want grease and such all over your laptop. www.helminc.com The Manual is worth every penny if you like working on your car .
