I have a 1984 Nissan Pickup that starts ok but sometimes when I let off the clutch and start to move it kills and won't start again for 10 min. to an hour. Sometimes it won't start at all, so I have it towed to a mechanic. As soon as the mechanic gets it, it starts with no problem.
This is a 1984 Nissan Pickup Model NL-Stuf, Z24 2389cc Engine, 5 speed transmission and carburator fuel system. Does anyone know what causes this problem? I need help! Thanks

My 1984 Nissan King Cab will not restart sometimes after the engine is warm. I've replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump. Next I'll replace the fuel pump relay under the glovebox on the right side.
Any other suggestions?

older datsun/nissan truck
Remember that on 'some' of the trucks there is a fule filter "hidden" on the passenger side. This filter can be inside a black cloth bag stuffed up by the frame.
Follow the gas line from the tank forward feeling it. This filter was hidden and stumped a few mechanics. If clogged the engine will run then choke down. Also on carburetor models there can be a fuel 'strainer' screen inside the carburetor at the end of the fuel line. |

Yeah the filter on the passenger side right under the gas port, you should check that its clogs up alot..
Change that often if you have bad gas in your nieghborhood.. because gas filters nowadays goes bad faster since they are catching alot more dirt.. Take care Arcadian |
