4.6L V8 Stripped Spark Plug Hole

Hey...
I have a '94 cougar with the same 4.6 that is in the mustangs. I have cross-threaded my plug hole in the aluminum head, and now, cannot install a plug. I have called around and everyone seems to think that the head is shot, and the only solution is replacement. I have researched helicoil's, and it seems like they might work.

I have purchased a helicoil kit that requires no drilling, and I read a disclaimer at the bottom that says to remove the head in order to keep shavings out of the cylinder.

Is there a way for me to do this while leaving the head on?
I would appreciate any advice...Thanks!

You have to take the head off the car. no other intelligent way. Then I would inspect the hole carefully. Then Heli-coil it. It will work if done correctly.
