yea i did..he says use wax after cutting compound. But people are saying that they get nice ass shines after using cutting compound. so now i'm confussed,, you know what i mean?
I don't want to mess up my first model that's it...maybe i'll have to test this method out on a aliitle toy car. or somthing to see how it works out.

so sparying laqcuer over the wet finished coat and then using rubbing compound would lead to a smooth shiny surface if the paint was sparyed on correctly( no orange peels)?

I hear what you are asking, cutting or rubbing compound will level the surface , reducing or eliminating orange peel or other small defects, I often use two or three products with progressivley finer grit, the final wax stage will bring up the shine.

waxes work great for shine but unless you are using a cleaner wax they usually do not do much for removing any material, so if you have orange peel or other things to get rid of you need a product that actually polishes. I use Meguires plastic cleaner or polish , sometimes Meguires cleaner wax, always Meguires carnuba to finish but I hear the Tamiya stuff is pretty good also. Everyone has their own favorite product.
