Custom Styrene Roll Cage!
If you want to fit a custom roll cage in YOUR car, styrene tubes are the way to go. I found they are easy to bend, and easy to weld using a regular lighter. I've made my first custom roll cage using styrene tubes, and i hope to post pics up soon! Current project is Saleen S351 Drag Conversion.!

Been doing this for over thirty years to make model race cars out of model street cars like they were doing the real ones. Here's a tip for painless roll cage construction. Start with the main loop (the one that goes from the back of the door opening behind the driver over to the back of the door opening on the passenger side) having "legs" that are too long. Drill holes in the floorpan where the main cage will attach and feed the tubing though them. Place the interior assembly into the body and push the bar up against the roof. Glue it to the floor and then cut off the excess. Do the same for the bars that come down at the dash/front door junction. Take the interior out and then add whatever bars you need to complete the main cage. They look like they grew in there and fit perfectly.
