Deep thoughts on amplifiers

I was wondering, is an amp that is 2 ohm stereo stable going to be able to push a 2 ohm mono load?

I have a amp bridged and running at 2ohms on two SVC 4ohm subwoofers.

would wiring it positive to positive negative to negative like normal each subwoofer to it's own channel give me a 2 ohm or a four ohm load?

ok ohmage....

your amp at 2 channels X wattage can push 1/2 that on a 4ohm speeker. bridging will give you a single four ohm load with two speekers you are again halfing your maximum output beacouse you are going up to 8ohms.

as far as wiring goes your looking at going posative to the pos on your first speeker. then the neg out to the pos on 2nd sub and neg to the neg on 2nd sub does that make sence.

what your doing is just bridging the middle. the neg of sub 1 wires to the pos of sub 2.

that's only if he wants an 8 ohm load, a 2 ohm would give you more power, but you need to check the specs of the amp to see if it can take it. Many amps that I see are 2ohm min to each channel, or 4ohm min if it's bridged. If it can take 2ohm bridged then just do the pos to the pos of both speakers and the neg to the neg of both speakers

well his speekers are 4 ohm impedance so no matter what hes looking at 4 ohms thats if he has only one sub. as soon ad the 2nd amp is connected the load becomes 8ohms as an ohm is a measure of resistance.

1 amp, 2 4ohm subs
