Here's an in-progress project

This is a 1/18th scale diecast kit of a 1941 Chevy Convertible. It's marketed by Testors and I got mine at one of my local hobby shops. It only comes as a stock kit and I had some extra rims and tires from a Jada diecast Lexus IS300 I bought so I started adapting these to fit the Chevy.

In addition to the wheels and tires, I obviously dropped the suspension a bit, especially in front. The straight six engine is getting a performance build up with a scratchbuilt crossflow head, a scratchbuilt finned aluminum valve cover, headers made from solder, scratchbuilt dual exhaust, modified pulleys, and I will also add a scratchbuilt intake setup, possibly fuel injection.

The interior will stay stock but will get a few minor changes, especially the color, which will be sand tan. The bright red body paint will get rubbed out and waxed. I hope to complete it within a few weeks, if I can find enough time to go down in my basement and get going on it!

Uh...aren't all the Import Racer die cast cars 1:24th scale? I'm pretty sure they are. So won't the wheels be a little small?

The Jada cars may be called 1/24th scale but most look bigger to me. The Lexus I have is just as big as some of the "full-size" American cars in their lineup. I think the size of the wheels on the red Chevy looks just about right, though I'd like to have a bit taller and wider rubber out back.
