How to Chrome plate?

I want to chrome plate parts of the exhaust on my Integra, how can I do it?

I believe it takes some specialized machinery. You will probably have to take/send them to someone who can.

Dan swears by Plasi-Kote chrome paint. I've had good luck with the one by Motip, but I don't think you can get it there. Or Bare Metal Foil...

Metal foil sounds good, cause I only need to cover a small part of the exhaust. Hope its not too expensive.

I still want to know if there's any paint that will finish looking like real metals, especially silver. So far, I've tried Tamiya, Testor and Humbrol, with Tamiya's X-11 being the best but still not real enough. (Brush paint, not spary)

When I was doing my ITR, I just bought some metallic silver paint and used that. I would have to say that it came out nice. Not really chrome, but it was cheap.

The line of Testor Metalizer creates a good metal finish. Also, there's a product called Alclad II, and it's an airbrush ready metal paint, and supposed to give a realistic metal look. I'm satisfied with Metalizer, but can't comment on Alclad because I haven't used it yet.

Alclad II is being praised by everyone that uses it as "chrome" from your airbrush.
I have some but haven't used it yet !!

Trash the plastic and replace it with solder, use aluminum tubing for the muffler and tailpipe and polish them with most any metal polish, it'll look terrific!!

Gunze has great metalizers, Mr. Metal. I've used them. It's great.

I've only tried/use Alclad II and I can't imagine anything on the market that can yield better results....maybe equal but not better IMO.

I haven't used Alclad coz it's not available here in the Philippines. But I have heard a lot of good things about it. Gunze's Mr. Metal will do for now.

i have used alclad and am amazed by the results! its bloody brilliant, just use a gloss black base then spray on top, you can even polish it with a microfibre cloth, its smooth quick, pre thinned, just shake the bottle and pour into the airbrush, thats it, 12-15psi and a couple of sprays and your there, ten mins later its bone dry, there is nothing that comes close to this product, but make sure you wear a respirator and work in a well ventilated area as the thinner is very potent but is why it dries so quick

alcad is the way to go its so close to chrome plating i think the finish is actually better, i have used it on a few sets of rims, the only drawback is that it is resonably expensive compered to other paints
model masters metelizers are good ,the alumium plate is good for exhausts
