Me VS the military police
Ok This is a question of fight or don't fight. Should my friend and I(the wrongly accused) stand by and accept our tickets or fight back? I'll give you a brief back ground of the scenerio. Both my friend and I are americans stationed here in Okinawa for those who don't know. Yeah yeah I know what most have to say about us yanks, but back to the story. I was following him due to the fact I don't travel to Kadena that often. Traffic's bad but we slowly(key word) make our way on post. I fall behind because of some ambulance coming, and hit every red light down the road. Still I'm going the speed limit or slower. We get to our destination and some hot headed Airforce chick approaches us ands starts to bitch about our driving. Claiming that we were drag racing off and on post and were speeding. Really this is the short story. So she calls the SPs Airforce's top-notch boys in blue. Next thing you know we're being taken to the station for questioning. We'll guess what they write us up for racing on a charge called "Speed Contest" Well I think its BS and so does most everyone else here. Should they have the right to ticket someone based on someone elses complaint?? I'm gonna fight this!! Its gonna be at least six points on my licence if it goes through witch doesn't leave me with too much else to lose. By the way my friend drives a GTO, he wouldn't wanna race me anyways....cause I'd win.

RB,
Its only a BASE issue. It will go the 1st SGT, you tell him what happened. He will give you a verbal lashing and its over. Been there, do that

Military cops are retarded. I was going 68 clicks in a 60 and he said I was flying. Give me a freakin break. There are plenty of people that go faster than I do on base. As for off that is a different story :P

I would fight it, 6pts and you might lose your license i got 2 tickets for 15 clicks over and they took mine away for 30 days and that killed me! they have no proof anyway, my wife worked with the sercurity forces on augmente duty and she said if you fight it you will more than likely win. Havent got one ticket since I brought my radar detector back with me from the states.

Whats up, I'm from okinawa too, I would just go to your 1st sgt and explain what happened, what sq. you in? and get the ticket revoked cause they really cant give you a ticket for someone saying that, that's bs. or talk to an sp that you know who can revoke it. anyways, how many points was your ticket?

Reading your story I would say that you should appeal the ticket. Keep in mind that you are under military jurisdiction thus civillian laws of evidence don't apply. If the person who accussed you is a military officer it may be harder to win your case.
However if you keep a level head and have a realatively clean record you should be able to convince the traffic court in Kadena that you did not break any laws. Off the record I am just curious what you did to agravate this woman to the point that she would file a complaint with the base police. You must have said the wrong things to her when she confronted you the first time. "You always attract more flies with honey than you do with vinegar". - country wisdom

You mustn't pay, if you do it, you'll be a loser, fight for the justice!
HAHAHA, I was joking, the only thing you can do is paying the charge, because there isn't nothing to do with police, it is shit, the all system is shit. Here in Italy the police threatened me to distrain my highly modified car if I didn't pay to him 500 $. I escaped, He tried to chase me, but I made him biting my dust, and after a month a 50 $ non rispected stop charge (which wasn't true), but always better than paying 500$ to a corrupt bastard |
