Tamiya 1:24 Lexus LFA

Hello, long time didn't post any thread here, time for some update. This kit I started on August 2013 for the Hobbylink.TV playing with plamo modeling competition, one of the rules is i cant post any picture outside Hobbylink.tv until the competition end and results are out. The competition ended on 1st of Jan and winner are announced past monday. Now the time for me to update the built here, although I didnt win anything, I satisfied with my built. sorry for the picture heavy post ya. could be over 80 pictures.

Tamiya Lexus LFA, detailed with workable door, CF on the area where suppose to be seen able. PE by H.Design, A=club metal transfer, T2M airvalve, KAmodel CF decal.

Cut open the door and work on the door jamb.

Detail the brakes with PE.

Engine block and transmission box dry brush with Mr Hobby aluminum

Primed the body and interior tub after more sanding and fine tune the door jamb and sill.

Next is the door.

The body are more or less there. Next are interior, chassis and the engine.

Center console and seats. Round button of the center console are drilled out and replace with stretch spur.

Steering and dash board. CF will add later on.

Exhaust, airbrushed with Aclad chrome.

Front and rear suspension hand painted.

Engine, brakes, transmission box and exhaust all put together and weathered the exhaust system.

Gloss black cam cover detail with T2M bolt and A+club metal transfer. Wheels attached for test fit.

PE fastener added to the air filter pipe. detailed with some wire and bolt.

Flat black the whole monocoque CF applied to the dashboard and steering. Attached all the interior stuff.

test fit the body.

Re: Tamiya 1:24 Lexus LFA

Body black primed.

test the door again due to some sanding and reprimed. everything looks fine.

Rear grill suppose to be replace with PE, but the grill layout is totally out. the holes suppose align straight horizontally and not slanting up. So i use the stock plastic grill and enlarge all the holes so the grill looks finer.

Seat belt added. sprayed a few layer of smoke on the rim and flat coated it.

CF time.

Body with Gloss black blase, then layer with Mr Hobby Crystal color sapphire blue+gloss (1:1 ratio) and last clear coat.

More CF and final test fit.

I can't think of any other words except that I love watching you work.
That you make it look easy is a sign of your skill in what you do.

Really lovely model, detail and paint job.

May I ask how long it took you to complete? or will that simply make us more awestruck?

Thanks for the compliment. I started the build early August 2013 and completed on the 1st of January 2014. So took me almost 4 months.
