Has anyone ever used Zero Paints: Mercedes CLK GTR Brilliant Silver or Audi R8-R10 TDI Lemans Silver?

Hey guys Im still looking for the right silver for my Xj220 build. I went ahead and ordered these paints a whim to see how they would look. Judging from the photos in the bottle the flake appears to be very fine but I will not know for sure until they arrive.

My last batch of zero paints silver had a very fine flake but the tint was off. I considered using MM steel metalizer but I would like to use something that's a little more designed to "shine" so to speak for car bodies. The metalizer also tends to dry so fast that it "dusts" residue on the model.

I was curious if anyone had tried these paints if so do you have any photos you could share? The Zero paints gallery is quite limited.

I've never used the exact paints you mention, but the finest silver I've used from Zero was the undercoat layer for the candy colours. I think that comes in 3 versions, fine, medium and coarse. I used the fine and it was excellent. Also check out Finisher's paint. I'm sure they do a special paint for the CLK Mercedes that's really fine flakes..

Thanks Steve. I was actually going to order the extra fine base coat but it sold out. I didn't want to take a chance on just the "fine" base coat. But it sounds like it's a good one from your experience.

Yes, the fine candy base is good. It gives a very fine metallic effect. It's what I used on my Suzuki Hayabusa build, under the Candy Red. I've heard really good things about that Finisher's CLK silver too. Apparently it has very fine flakes and sprays beautifully..

I actually just googled images of Finishers Fine Silver. Looks like it's what I've should have ordered all along! Oh well. I just ordered it on ebay. I'm going over kill on silver until I find the right one. It's just that important to me.

If I don't make use of these zero paints I'll be more than willing to sell them cheap to anyone in the states. I know getting your hands on zero paints isn't easy.
