Arrow Can I swap in this rear beam axle from G5-G6?

Here is a picture of apparently a rear beam-axle from a G5 (or maybe a )

The exciting thing about it is it has disk brakes already to go!

(found picture here: Brake & Front End)

Looks like all I would need to do is hook them up to the brake lines, and presumably the ABS would work the same too.

What do you think?
This looks like an easy install, even if I have to drill a few holes and add some heavy bolts and washers to attach it.

The G6 has independant rear suspension, so not from a G6. You would have to do some measuring to know for sure if it would fit.

If not a G6, would this be from a G5?
The article was about a 2005+ Pontiac G5/ Cobalt...

So presumably, would the Cobalt also have a rear beam like this, and rear disk brakes?

Second, both these cars apparently came with electric steering racks (no hydraulic pwr steering). Can I swap in electric steering units from these cars to increase horsepower?

Yeah, G5 or Cobalt. As far as "swapping" in electric steering, that would be a lot of work...modules, harnesses, mounting, programing, ect...ect...I would suggest doing some rescerch on this mod if you are serious. You're not just going to install it, plug it in and go.
