you know what happens with these transmissions when they fail.

question is what does NEW MEAN ? new to vehicle / rebuilt new / never used before new / scrap yard new / swap new etc.

hard shifts mean this was slipping for an extended amount of time . when installing another transmission the lines/radiator tranny fluid cooling need be flushed.

Re: need help

The ( new ) ment I didn't rebuild it so taking there word they are a well know shop with good rep I cleaned the lines before I installed it it is just that it didn't have D or OD and that is why I replaced old one was worried might be something else and I might have bought tranny prematurely

you purchased a new transmission, from a transmission repair shop. they said it is new , never used . this is what I am getting. does it look new ? the metal bright and shinny with no corrosion on the skin. also this came with a new unused torque converter correct ?

how much did this new tranny cost ?

I would return it fast .

A person can not buy a brand new automatic transmission or a brand new converter even from the dealer.

Only rebuilt automatic transmissions can be purchased.
