G zilla "pimp" skyline (56k beware)
well here is my pimped out skyline, it has been my most favourite build so dar i think, and will set the trend for many other cars i think.
many thanks to jimbob for the excelent paints and the wheels which without joeclaw could not have happened, and also to hiroboy for the tutorial on fitting axels to tamiya models, and to jonno for the photo chopped skyline that inspired the build. well the doors were smoothed and so were the front indicators, just wanted to keep it smooth as per the pic. then it was sprayed in a coating of black followed by jimbobs blue to red flip paint. and 5 coats of halfords laquer. the chasis recieved a and attacking from the dremel to remove the tops of the arches to allow the wheels to sit deep inside. interior was painted using an airbrush with tamiya buff(xf-57) and deck tan (xf-55), still got a few more bits to put on lights etc and then this baby is done. hope u like it |

nope that is the flash reflecting off of the flakes, the rage flip paint is the smallest flakes money can buy, and is incredibly expensive. in real life it is amazing. its meant to be this low, as if it was on hydraulics the putty is humbrol model filler. it needs no mixing just driying time, which can be several hours |

chris don't you mean baggs? Bags are better than pumps with use of large rims. ahh ok, well on mine i glues teh lense in and put some testors white compound putty all over and around it and sanded witrh 100, then 250, then 450 smooth, it feels real smooth but when i put the primer you can still see where the lense is, any idea on how to fix dis?

good work chris!
its nice to see someone go a step away from the racing skyline... i like the idea of a slammed "lowrider" skyline... you planin on doing anything to it? Goran

we i wouldnt use the lens in there, perhaps the filler your using is shrinking? leave it a couple of days to dry, add more, i always over fill the holes till they are "proud" of the body so after shrinkage there is enuf filler. i use 1200 grit wet and dry paper for finish sanding. and then leave it for another day. then primer, sand and spray, sand then re spray |
